Ozone Masks

TCML,
We use 3M Brand N95 Particulate Respirators when working around high ozone
concentrations (if you can smell it, it's high!).
The best for our use seems to be the 8214. It's basically a filtered
welding respirator (fire resistant shell) with Organic Vapor removal
(activated charcoal) and an outflow valve (for exhaled air). These help
reduce operator ozone fatigue and keeps our stunt performers from getting
"the big whiff". They're very comfortable and I even use one around the
shop to block out sawdust and smelly stuff (fumes from cutting phenolic,
g10, etc...).
Grainger sells them as part number 4MH63 for $65.00 per 10 pack. Each mask
lasts for months with our "normal" use.
In the interest of lung health and safety, I would like to humbly suggest
that The Geek Group or other hobbyist/educational organization undertake
the group purchase of these for resale to the group. I have a few extras if
someone wants one right away ($10 per mask, PayPal, US Postage Paid, Email
me off list).
