But the UV isn't produced until the gap current flows, which doesn't occur
unless all of the segments are conducting.
I think the principal merit of the TCBOR gap is that it forces folks to use
rounded electrodes with good heat dissipation capabilities. Also, that the
arcing occurs over the length of the pipes prevents local hot spots.

Hi all
It just occured to me that because all the
gaps can 'see' the other gaps then the UV
from the first one would cause all gaps to
break down meaning a faster switch on =
greater dI/dT as opposed to inline gaps where
no gap can see the next gap.
