IDR Primary Magnetic Field Mapping

All

I tried the NIB magnet "snooping of magnetic field intensity of the
primary assembly last night. I used a "back fed" MOT with 120VAC
feeding HV primary and a set of car jumper cables used from sec. of
MOT to either end of IDR copper tubing primary. 120VAC burden
was approximately 2-3 A (250W input measured on wattmeter)
Field intensity was dependent on turn center spacing (as expected),
noticeably stronger intensity was felt around IDR/current
concentrator.

Next on plate will be to map magnetic field intensity using a
CT as a current drive input and a small 'E' Ferite "snooper"
coil tied to input of a o'scope, will map through section of
primary. Will be interesting to see effects toward center of
primary and if additional IDR work (adding a slot) will be
necessary / desireable.
