Re: fuse for AEEC 2kw variac?

Hi Larry, All

I replaced the 240v 40A fuse on my Powerstat 9kW variac with a piece of
copper strap, and rely on a breaker to trip when current gets excessive. I
hate replacing fuses, and Murphy's Law says you'll not have a spare on hand
when you need it, and if you bridge the fuse without any other overcurrent
protection, you'll melt something down. My breaker I rely on is the 60A
breaker in my breakout box in the garage. When it trips, I loose 240 from
the box out, killing the pig, variac, and ballast all at once.

  Just my $.02, YMMV
