tesla magnifier AWG size?

I am planning on building a Magnifier...but I'm having some problems finding 
the correct AWG size for the MAIN "secondary" coil.
I could use:

14 AWG "single" (silver plated copper) 600 VAC rated Nylon wire. Very tough 
stuff!!!

12 volt double, stranded 16 AWG wire too with a clear acrylic coat on 
it.....*(speaker wire).


.....I'm running 14 kV / 550 mA with a 120 nF cap. ANYONE HAVE ANY 
SUGGESTIONS????
