Hi Malcolm,
I believe the PL-4D21 is similar to the 4-125A/4D21. The following is
from RCA Transmitting Tube Manual TT-5:
4-125A/4D21 is a forced-air-cooled, thoriated-tungsten-filament-type Beam Power
tube used as RF power amplifier and modulator and as RF power amplifier and
oscillator. May be used with full input up to 30MHz with natural cooling or to
120 MHz with forced air. Class C max CSS plate dissipation 125 watts. Requires
special Metal-shell Giant 5-contact socket and may be operated in vertical
position only, base up or down. Plate shows orange-red color at max CSS
ratings. Tube measures 2.75 in dia x 5 11/16 high. Plate connection is a
skirted small cap.
Filaments pin 1 & 5, G1 pin 3, G2 pins 2 & 4, Plate to cap.
Max Ratings:
Filament 5V-at-6.5 Amp
transconductance 2500 umhos
Mu factor G2 to G1 5.9
G1 to plate 0.05 pF
G1 to Fil. 11 pF
G1-G2 11 pF
G1-P 11 pF
P to Fil. 3.2 pf
Seal temp 170C
Class C Osc. Max ratings:
DC Plate 3000 V
DC G2 400V
DC G1 -500 V
DC plate Current 225 mA
G2 input 20 watts
G1 input 5 watts
Plate Dissipation 125 watts
Hope this Helps
