Hi Dave,

I have definitely noticed this "haze" on my toroid and also on most
of the surfaces inside my primary tank circuit. I believe this coating
is deposits of nitrogen oxide (NO) compounds, which are generated
by the output streamers as well as the spark gap.

Be careful with the ozone (O3) as it is quite toxic at level concentrations
above 50 PPM, I believe. If you can smell it, it's pretty much already at
toxic levels and the side effects of O3 poisoning can be pretty nasty :-(
I too have experienced "ozone poisoning" and it would usually take > 30
minutes before I could breath deeply again without suffering sharp chest
pains that would lead to more asthma-like coughing. Strangely enough,
I no longer have any problems with excessive builup of O3 since I now
only run my pig powered coil. The smaller NST coils are the ones that
always gagged me with O3 :-P
