The first monostable (made with two transistors) is triggered by an
external signal. It generates the pulse that loads current in the
induction coil primary, and when the pulse ends it triggers the
second monostable.
The second monostable keeps the voltage at the output of the first
low while the spark occurs, impeding a false triggering by spark
interference.
When the pulse of the second monostable ends, the system can receive
for a new trigger pulse.
The circuit works because it's very easy to trigger a monostable
with external interference, but it's almost impossible to interrupt
the output pulse with interference once it starts.
If I remember correctly, the element values were as shown.
