Indeed.
However in this specific case, it appears this inductor
was used to _regulate_ manually for a fixed value of
primary voltage, as other parameters were varied.
In that SPECIFIC context, i suspect 'regulating' coil
is apt. If the same coil is were used to trim the
frequency, then tuning coil seems apt.
