Hi Alex

These have been coming for a while, the first ovens with them started 
showing up last year.  These are potentially quite exciting for TC use, SS 
NSTs are no good because all they do is put out very low current HV spikes, 
backed up with a higher current at ~1000V.

To run a magnetron the SS MOTs will actually have to put out a lot of stable 
DC power, and as the output will be ~4-5kV a pair of them would make a very 
light and efficient power supply.  Of course there are the usual RFI issues 
with anything solid state near a TC, but as Marco Denicolai demonstrated 
with his big SMPSU with appropriate filtering these can be overcome.
