Hi Dave, All,
Both the primary and secondary coils on Electrum are
air-cooled, as neither develops any appreciable RMS
heating. The peak base current in the secondary is
about 60A , and at the full break rate this results
in about 10A RMS, which is acceptable for the 12ga
secondary wire.
