Designing Primary and Secondary for SSTC

Original poster: "Daniel McCauley by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <dhmccauley-at-spacecatlighting-dot-com>

I recently built my first solid state tesla coil and it was a huge success.

See
<http://www.spacecatlighting-dot-com/teslacoil.htm>http://www.spacecatlighting.c
om/teslacoil.htm for info and pictures

It was based on a H-Bridge topology and ran at 115-230 VAC line voltage,
half-rectified pulling about 1 foot arcs.

My question is this:

I want to build an even larger SSTC using a large H-Bridge power supply
(mulitiple 1000V FETs in series per leg) and possibly run it off 480VAC.

Would someone be able to point me in the direction on how to properly design a
primary and secondard coil for SSTC's??? I find lots of info on regular
tesla coils, but nothing on SSTC's. I'm looking how to find tube diameters,
turns, wire size, etc.... Do i start with a secondary resonant frequency goal
and
work from there???

I'm new to tesla coils and need all the help i can get.

Thanks in advanced.
