OK, while we're on the thread of HV tubes... check out this one from Siemens:

It is the biggest triode (voltage wise) I've ever seen.
But I've never repaired a radio station or Optimatic generator before! ;)
 
I called Siemens about four years ago to see if they still supplied the part.
They do... for $16,000! Hopefully there's an overseas animal hospital that
needs a spare tube... ;) The Pandoros Optimatic Generator and the associated
X-RAY system is old, huge and still used in veterinary medicine.
