Is your primary flat or raised?? This really seems strange unless you have
a vertical primary, especially for such a low powerd coil(5" aint bad for an
ignition coil). Maybe place a larger pipe around the lower half of your
secondary to insulate it. Ive pushed my coils very hard and something like
this wouldnt even phase me. If you look at my other post, i have arcs
reaching down the entire coil! But just run it some more and see what
happens, if there is any damage, i dont see why another coat of poly or
epoxy couldnt fix it up. Good luck.
