Are you sure about these distances? 0.004 inches is 0.1 mm. At this
distance the rule of 30 kV/cm for plane-plane gaps predicts 300 V, but
this is about the minimum sparking voltage in normal air. You mention
600 V for 0.004" gaps. Is this right?
