Hi,
If your primary is getting hot....well you could do a lot of things.
* Less input power
* More primary turns and less tank capacitance
* New primary with thicker conductor
* Air cooling
The primary is getting hot because it is too small (thickness) for
the current flowing through it. This is why we have wire gauges...22
gauge, 14 gauge, 8 gauge, etc. The more power you run into a primary
the hotter it will get.
