Yes in a regular level shifter they are 2 more diode but for what
we use it, a pulse 60 Hz cap charger, it's not necessary to use
them because we discharge the tank cap at peak voltage preventing
the charge to return to the supply.
For fun I make a simulation of this circuit but with a resistor
in place of the tesla primary circuit for simplicity. The upper
scope show a load of 2k and the lower one is with a load of 10k.
