broke hv lead in nst

Hi everybody,
My first attempt at depotting nst. I got a hotplate
sat the transformer with the cover off on it and set
the temperature on low. I also covered the whole setup
with a cardboard box to keep the heat in and the rain
off. After three hours I got a little impatient and
started digging the tar crust off with a screw driver
and broke a hv lead. I didn't realize what it was
untill it was too late.
I turned the heat up. It's still in my yard cooking
now.

I guess I can unwind a little of the lead off the core
when I get it clean?
