Your explanation seems to be one of the best. ( Surrounding charged objects
inducing a charge into the individual who then discharges to ground.) This
brings back memories of heavy charges on ungrounded cable shielding when
exposed under high voltage lines. I've been very fortunate to survive
shocks from 2nd anodes, NST's, 110 & 220, and various others, but the worst
kick came from a charged cable shield. So AC influence CAN induce a
dangerous DC charge into ungrounded objects. Looks like the answer is to
ground or discharge everything to ground, including ones' self.   [ 8o/)
