I suggest that is what THOSE static shocks feel like.
Such shocks come in all manner of power levels and
voltages. Specifically effect (energy) is affected by
capacity (there is always one, even if a stray one)
and the voltage. Change either and the 'feel'
changes.
Is this a bipolar or 'single ended' coil?
Also, as aptly noted:

Secondary or the form thereof???
Can be hard to tell the difference.
