Re: Stop the nonsense

 All,
I agree that this thread should not be stopped! Even though Dave's
first experiments haven't given exact answers yet, I don't think we can
ever say that we know all there is to know about everything? If this
will be the case, then a boring universe it will be.

Beyond the fact or fiction of longitudinal waves is the fact that Dave
is running three flat coils connected in a wye fashion (and others).
Not much is being said for this, or the fact that it is a member of a
very untried coil config, And it works!
Harvey norris has mentioned wye coils to me many times, I even wanted
to try one in classic tc config., But this one is showing Something
different.
I would like to know where the losses are? What the coupling is and if
all three coils are resonating at the same rate?
It would seem that each winding in this coil would present it's own
resonation? And it would be hard to match each coils inductance to get
them all resonating together? Are they interacting or "canceling"
anything within themselves? where is the energy going?
All i'm trying to say is that it is great to have someone trying new
things, expressing new possibilities or opening up old theories. Lets
not
close the book on what is left to learn, there is plenty in this flat
pancake coil to be learned yet, we should all take a lesson in humble
from this. Big streamers are nice, but anyone can get them.
Personally I think that learning is like an anti virus program, we
need
to stay updated. Just to many old school rules are being broken as we
enter a new age of science, slowly man is approaching the fundamental
building blocks of reality and this is only presenting new questions
about old ideas.
I like this refreshing talk of something new, Dave may be testing to
many things at once right now, but i'm sure as more coilers decide to
play with this idea of coiling, we will hear much more data to put in
the kitty?

I've finally gotten a sponsor for the wire in the 13khz coil, so i
should be very busy for a while, but i wouldn't mind trying a small
pancake coil like this soon. Maybe build one single winding, then a wye
style. just Measuring all winding inductance against the single will be
interesting.
It's in the newness that the interesting resides.
Take care,
Marc M.
