Check the following article at University of Utah (USA)
for an adjustable RF generator whose frequency is
adjustable, can be digitally keyed, and is a push-pull
pentode (or tetrode) driven Hartley Oscillator.
Excellent site article, design and construction details, etc...

One major novelity is the control logic for the keyer
is powered by the tube's filament transformer, so the
tubes are guaranteed to stay keyed off if filaments
aren't on, and heating timer is not complete. Digital
gating control through an optocoupler. An excellent
no nonsense design, could be used for a small (<100W)
VTTC or resonator pinger; or >1000W with 4-400's
and adapted for available filament power. The 555
circuit on hotstreamer for the 1/2 bridge driver that allows
variable duty cycle and PRF would be excellent in this
design, since it is DC powered.
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes to ALL on the List.
