You could try winding 2 or 3 parallel windings with the #27. Two #27's in
parallel is like a #24 (0.0142" vs 0.021) as far as cross sectional are..
The winding process is a bit trickier, and you won't get as many turns per
inch, but you've got lots of #27 there. I would think the easiest way would
be to separate your wire onto two spools, then wind the two windings in
parallel simultaneously.
