Oh boy! somebody has great recall from memory. Definately was in the UK and
i think late 1970's had to do with lightning and frequency of hits, and an
inexpensive detection method. I can not remember if they were looking to
chart the hits to a map or if they were looking at the RF frequency of the
hits. seems as tho the detectors were set out in an array
across many miles...maybe early detection of eminent strikes...may have been
1978...i will try to find more if time permits. cul brian f.
