Question regarding primary phasing????

Common and electrical sense says to me that which way you wire the primary
doesn't matter, but:

In your tesla coil experience, does it really matter which end of the
primary you hook up the tank capacitor to??
Inside end or tapped end???  I would like to keep my connection from the cap
to the primary as short as possible and
connecting the cap directly to the inside of the primary seems like a better
path.  What are your thoughts?
