Biggg Coil now running
Original poster: "by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <kreld-at-juno-dot-com>
All
It was a still night Sunday, so out rolled the Biggg Coil for its first
run this Spring with the new 5 HP rotory. All went well that night, but
the wind came back up 3 MPH around dark. An ameter check indicated 1.9
amps high voltage to the Coil, 105 amps input to the pigs. The rotory
ran flawless after initial mechanical timing was set, then the "John
Freau" electronic phase control was used for maximum spark. The new
rotory uses 3/4" diameter "steel" electrodes, not tungsten. Time will
tell how they hold up, but after 10 minutes run time, not much wear, and
then only on the stationary electrodes.

A breakout point was used at first, then it was took off, but
batteries died in digital camera for those pics. Maybe another night.
