RE: Attachment point

If all points on the ring are electrically connected to all other points
i.e. it is a continuous conductive ring of flex duct, then there would be
no benefit to multiple contact points. The pan is at least as good of a
conductor as individual wires.
But if you started with a ring made of some insulating material, say
Styrofoam, and then applied strips of aluminum tape to the ring, the answer
is less clear. Intuition suggests that you want good a reasonable
electrical connection between all of the strips, but since the adhesive is
non-conductive, such connections would have to be made by the center disk.
It may be difficult to ensure that the ring makes good contact with every
strip of tape. If so, some other connection method may help.

Hi all,
Is there any difference in where the terminal wire is attached to the
toroid? In other words my wire is now attached to the pie pans that make
the center section of the toroid. Would there be any benefit to
attaching it directly to the toroid's ducting instead ? What about
splicing 2 or 3 wires from the one coil wire and attaching these to
various points around the dia of the toroid?
Any input is appreciated,
Jim
