??? reverse input a MOT and measure the current output???? That might give a 
correct reading!

>From my experience with MOT's, the household type is shunted for a maximum 
of 780 mA for the lower voltage models (1.8 kVAC to 1.98 kVAC), and 650 mA 
for the higher voltage models (2 kVAC to 2.4 kVAC)
.....but remember that the LARGER the Microwave Oven Cap uF rating the 
larger the current limiting factor! Microwave curcuit usually runs no more 
than 2.1 kVAC -at- 350 mA, anymore and the HV diodes would blow. Out of 
service, a MOT will float to much greater voltages due to insain currents 
and a lack of a proper load.
