Hi, John
Series will work , but if you olny use 1 (series string) it will be olny be
half wave rectified. So you will olny get (the positive or negitive) half of
the wave hence your average DC will be lower. A bridge circuit(bridge
rectifier) would be more effictive(also expensive) since it rectifies 360
degrees of the sine wave. There are many article on the net on how the
Bridge circuit is set up, just do a search. However a bridge circuit
requires 4 diodes with equal ratings this is the downside it can get costly
esp if you are putting diodes in series you would need 4 series strings to
make this work!
,Hope this helps and Safe Coiling
Chris

Hi guys ! Let me try this question one more time. Can you change the output
of
a nst to d.c. just by using diodes? Would you string them in series? thanks
guys!
