    The current rating is a bit small on that unit. My 15/30 tends to pull
around 8 amps, so I imagine yours is similar. You should obtain a variac
rated at at least that much current, preferably a little more.
www.allparts-dot-com has a 10 Amp unit for $135. This is probably much more
costly than the 2.25 amp unit, but the 2.25 will most likely smoke in a
matter of minutes. Not a good thing.
