That does not sound like a reasonable rating. My stationay gap coil ran at
several charge/discharge cycles per 120Hz charging cycle. What were the
ratings of these bad caps by the way? Do you know the physical size and
internal construction?

I don't question any of the problems anybody may have had. Maybe they can
can be avoided a second time though.
