I use poly box tape wrapped around the coilform inverted, (sticky side

This not only creates a seal between the windings and the form, but it
holds the wire VERY well.
Take care,

Jeff and Marc M.,
I use a motor / variac winding jig. While keeping a constant tension on the
wire, I let my
index finger place the wire on the cleaned pvc tube. If you just place the
wire within maybe 1/8 inch of the previous turn you will find that the wire
slides naturally
in place right up against the previous turn. The coil just about winds
itself. Winding
the wire on a sticky surface may not be the best way.
