Neons and rotary gaps
Original poster: "Mr Gregory Peters by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <s371034-at-student.uq.edu.au>
Sorry again if this comes through twice:
Well, I've rung around all day looking for a pole pig, but they are
just near impossible to get over here. Seems as though our electricity
providers aren't as well funded as yours (in the us). Apparently they
will fix a damaged unit unless it is totally beyond repair. By beyond
repair I mean the power pole has fallen over and smashed the tranny to
bits. You just can't seem to get them anywhere. So it looks as though
my new "mega coil" is going to have to run on a BIG neon bank, which
fortunately are relatively cheap. I have heard that it is not desirable
to use rotary gaps with neon trannys. Why is this?
Greg.
