These pictures were from some experiments done in regards to positive ion cloud
generation.
The research points directly to the fact that Dr. Tesla was using modulated DC,
not AC. And 
his device at Colorado Springs used a mercury/hydrogen rectifier inside the
antenna. Do you have 
a copy of Leland Anderson's book "Nikola Tesla On His Work With Alternating
Currents" ? 
There is quite a lot of work that could be done regarding the surround plate,
the mechanical pendulum, and the modulation of the rectified output of the
coil, with regards to oscillating the Schumann Cavity.
These are things all mentioned in the "Colorado Springs Notes 1899-1900". I
think there are many
secrets still waiting to be discovered in those notes.
