Call up a salvage yard, dump, recycling center, etc. and ask for old
microwaves. You can probably get them for free. Just take your microwaves
home and gut 'em. The MOT will be the only thing in there that looks like a
transformer (it will also be heavy). Also be sure to save the diode,
capacitor, magnetron, fan, cord etc. You'd be surprised at how handy some of
this stuff can come in. If your planning on using MOTs for transformers in a
tesla coil you'll probably need to put two (the largest highest voltage ones
you have, as long as their similar in size and output) in series and/or use
a level shifter aka "voltage doubler" circuit to get the voltage up to a
point where it won't give you headaches later on. You can see this circuit
