I am planning a flat coil, using 1/4 inch copper tubing. I want 15 turns with
.75 inch space between each turn measured edge to edge (or 1 inch center to
 center).
 Sound OK ????????

It depends on the voltage of your primary power supply. Your design will
work but results in a much larger diameter than is necessary. I prefer to
use .350" spacing between turns, to allow room for a primary tap, and to go
with 15 or so turns. .75" spacing would only be required if your primary
voltage was very high - as in well above 15 kv.
