Kevin,

I just had a chance to download and try out your program. Very nice job! I
ran a few calculations to get a feel for how the program works and its
accuracy. The program is very straightforward and user friendly. I did
notice a few things for you to look at (some merely cosmetic):

1. In the power supply calculation, the predicted spark length appears to
be for the async gap case. You may also want to show the estimated spark
length for the LTR static and synchronous gap cases, since you do include
LTR cap and bang sizes for LTR static and SRSG cases.

2. The secondary turns calculation assumes 100% tight-wound... you may want
to allow some degree of space winding (usually unavoidable anyway) to
provide a bit more flexibility.

3. The toroid calculation apparently assumes the full isolated isotropic
capacitance. In reality, the shielding effect of the secondary winding will
reduce this capacity. (You may want to look at Terry's E-Tesla6 to estimate
this effect).

4. The primary inductance calculation for flat primary seems to be on the
low side. I used my primary (13.25 inner diameter, 0.375" conductor, and
0.625" ctr-ctr spacing (0.25" space between turns), and 17 total turns. I
get about 194 uH, while the program gets 115 uH. Material length of winding
appears to be calculated properly.

5. In the Rotary Gap section, there appears to be a problem with the
capacitor recharge time calculation. For 2 breaks/rev, 2 electrodes, 0.25"
electrodes, 12" diameter disk at 3600 RPM, the capacitor recharge time
shows up as about 252 mSec(?) for a 15 kV 120 mA source and a 40.3 nF tank
cap. Also, you need to add units for the rotational speed (inches/sec) and
electrode speeds (in MPH).

6. The MMC Array calculator table should show effective bank MMC
capacitance with at least one more significant digit.

Again, nice job of integrating a number of functions together!

And, good luck in your studies!
