Hello Jason,

A quick search on Google for "breakdown voltage" turned up the following
pages:

http://home.earthlink-dot-net/~jimlux/hv/spherev.htm

which gives a voltage of 32.2 KV for a 1 cm gap between 2 - 5 cm spheres
both at HV.

http://home.earthlink-dot-net/~jimlux/hv/rodv.htm

which gives a breakdown voltage of 26 KV for two 1/2" square rods spaced 2
cm apart.

Isn't Jim Lux on this list? The name sounds familiar.

Regards,

Pete Komen
