Hi Mark,
You are the second person to ask about the bulb. The bulb is approximately
2 - 2 1/2 feet or so away from the torroid and I get a little streamers
inside of the bulb when I run the coil. The breakout bump really does an
amazing job of directing the streamers away from everything. When I was
using the static gap with the same coil, I was starting to get multiple,
shorter breakouts from other spots on the torroid besides the bump. The
streamers were only 36" with the static gap. Now I get 42" streamers, but
with much less breakout from other spots. The streamers are also much more
graceful and tamer (??? - I don't know if you can call any streamer tame
though) with the rotary. I really love the sound it makes too!
Sue
