RE: Terry's Protection Filter
Original poster: "Loudner, Godfrey by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <gloudner-at-SINTE.EDU>
Hi All
Charles Brush at http://www.voltnet-dot-com forgot to change safety gap when
switching from a 19.9kV/15kVA pig to a 14.4kV/5kVA
pig. The 14.4kV pig blew from HV kickbacks. The accident is described at the
bottom of page http://www.voltnet-dot-com/tesla/cfbcoil3.html. If HV kickbacks
were the real reason the pig failed, then the importance of safety gaps for
pigs is emphasized.
