Hi Matt,
Don't make no difference whether you use ac or dc. The cap will still
see 90% voltage reversal AT THE RESONANT FREQUENCY OF THE TANK CIRCUIT. Have
a look at Richie Burnetts site for a full explanation of this. A dc supply
is easier on the caps if you use an async rotary, ask me how I know.
