At least you can simulate various decrement ratios, etc. even if the carrier
is fixed.  You could, for instance, simulate quenching at any "notch".  What
kind of RF generator is it, and what's the bandwidth on the modulation
input?

Hmm... maybe this is the excuse to build the 1 kW linear RF amp...
