MOT life expectancy in a TC

 Hi all,

After looking over a few pages and the archives on using MOTs for the tank
tranny (I'm referring to paired mots for 8kv or so), using doublers and
whatnot.

You have to admit it's a really potent little tranny in a small space. The
voltage doublers bring them up to our "normal" voltage range, and their
current makes them simply little monsters. But how long do the last in this
useage? How often do you MOT-o-philes burn up a MOT-based tank tranny? How
many MOT users run RSG's on their setup?

Once you get the powerarcing under control, a MOT seems to perform just as
well as a PT. Aside from the difficulty of finding 2 matched MOTs, what
other problems are there?

PS, the List seems oddly quiet this last week or so
