Hi Ben,

It would probably arc from the metal can edges BUT...  There is a real chance a
streamer could attach the the plastic nozzle due to the dielectirc properties. 
If that happened, the nozle could quickly melt and perhaps fail the valve.  The
contents could then shoot out and if the contents, or propellant, is flamable
you would have a little firely rocket shooting around along with the high
voltage.  Obviously, NOT a recommended experiment!!
