Matt's flyback question

Matt,
Flybacks from crt monitors utilize a very big transistor, also known as the
HV chip. They are the most commonly replaced component of CRT monitors. It
takes the place of the spark gap in common tesla coils and it takes the
place of vacume tubes in VCCTs.
On one side of the ferrite core you have a primary coil and a stabilizer
coil. Primary should be 5-10 turns.
Stabilizer should be 3-5 turns.
Depending on the desired voltage output, your amount of turns on the
secondary can vary.
I have attached a few photos and schematics of how these are built.
As for using a flyback, Find an old crt and just use it when it is attached
to the board. AS iS!
