Sorry for the wrong citation of the Medhurst formula; it must of
course be:

Cmed = D*K  (with K from the Medhurst table or a fit eqn.)

with D being the coil diameter in cm, and 

K=a+b*x+c*x^(1.5)+d*ln(x)/x+e/x^2
