I use a hack-saw blade as a gap gauge for spacing. I mount my copper pieces
inside a piece of PVC pipe and mount it all verticaly on spacers to provide
natural air cooling. I mount each pipe piece with 6-32 bolts in a 1/8" hole
to allow adjustment. I select my spacing of the total gap by which bolt I
connect my wire to, Bolt 6 to bolt 12.
