Re: Secondary Base Current Magnitude ??

A rough guess would be that your peak current would be Amps,
and the RMS current would be mAmps.
A simple rough calculation: Take the calculated energy of your
primary capacitor and assign it to your secondary inductance.
The calculated current for this energy will approximate your
peak secondary current.

Will shortly be able to measure the RF Base current in a 3kW 90kHz Coil.
Unsure of expected magnitude, anybody have a good guestimate. I know it
will
depend on the base coil Z but have no previous experience in estimating
it
but feel it will be in the 10 to 50 ohm range
Meter is 20A FSD, suspect will be a little insensistve for the job but
don't
want to kill this meter (The meter has been tested on 50Hz AC and
compared
with the DVM)
Tnx
