HOnestly I wouldn't use a bucket cap whatever the situation! I used to use
pint bottles full of salt water and motor oil to make my cap bank, and
compared to my new MMC bank it was a pile of pants!
If you use silver nitrate for the bucket or bottle caps it tends to work
quite well, especially if you keep the bucket blacked out (AgNO3 is
photoreactive), but i've never tried copper sulphate - give it a go and see
what happens!
