After much searching I found an ideal motor hub at Stock Drive Products
(www.stockdriveproducts-dot-com). What you are looking for is a timing belt
pulley. They are machined from stainless steel on a lathe and exhibit no
runout. The face is perfectly flat making it ideal to mount a rotor against.
There are many sizes. The one that I bought is part number "A 6F 4-32DF050"
at a cost of $29.27. It is about 4" in diameter and accepts a 1/2 inch
shaft. I use it with a 1/2 HP GE motor with a 10" G10 rotor. Everything is
fine even at 3600 RPM.
